a little Independence Day decorating

This banner is a decoration I made from items that I already had on hand…two pieces of scrap burlap glued to make one rectangle, red and cream cotton ribbon, a bit of dowel rod, and some fishing line fashioned into a hanging loop. I traced the star shape on and then filled it in with acrylic paint.

  1. Thanks, Alison.
Oh yes, I had to plant sunflowers for sure! They are my homage to Kansas. These particular ones are a decorative type, though, not the seed type grown for human consumption. They fit the space…the bed is narrow. It’s only about 2 feet in depth. Another bonus of having them is watching the birds come eat the seeds; I have actually seen only one kind of bird doing that. I think they are warblers.

  2. Hey Denise, I enjoyed seeing your flowers and artwork. This will be fun to read what you are doing!
